Q: So, what's with this self-published
book? Isn't that supposed to be a bad idea?
A: Not necessarily a
bad idea. There are a number of valid reasons for someone to publish a
book themselves. Especially with the new technologies like POD (Print on
Demand) and E-Books. This particular book is a book of poetry, and a
very large number of poetry books are self-published. (While there are
many poetry books published by small literary houses and university and
college presses, there just isn't a strong enough market for the major
publishing houses.)
Q: Why is that?
A: Poetry is an art form that can
be very personal. Much like many visual arts, and a lot of music, being
very personal means a limited audience.
